Meadowbrook Family Dentistry offers dental crowns, or caps, to restore the function and appearance of your tooth. Our dentist may recommend a crown following a root canal procedure, or if your tooth is fractured, decayed, or has a large filling. With our CEREC technology, we can even provide you with a beautiful dental crown in a single visit! We invite you to call us at 770-622-5909 to make your appointment with Dr. Ambreen Lakhani and learn more about dental crowns in Duluth, Georgia.

Dental crowns help to protect your tooth against further damage from disease and decay, and strengthen it so that further fractures do not occur. Crowns restore the natural appearance and function of the tooth. Our dentist may also use crowns to attach bridges and cover implants.

When you receive a dental crown, our dentist will make a case of your existing tooth and take an impression. This impression will be sent to a special lab, which will create a custom crown. You may wear a temporary crown until your permanent restoration is ready to be cemented in place.

With proper care, your dental crown can last 8 years or longer. Be sure to brush and floss in the area of the crown to avoid excess plaque or the collection of debris around the restoration. Please be aware that certain behaviors, such as jaw clenching and teeth grinding, significantly shorten the life of dental crowns. Brittle foods, ice, or hard candy can also compromise the adhesion of the crown and even damage it.
